A major part of attending college and living on campus is the residence halls! It’s a new space that you are given to really make your own (well, half of it of course!) I have compiled two lists that myself and current QU students feel are absolute MUST-HAVES for living on campus. The first list are essentials and the second list are items that aren’t necessary, but nice to have!
~The beds in the residence halls are Twin XL beds. Be sure you bring a set or two of sheets that are Twin XL and a comforter. I personally liked having a couple sets of sheets so that I could mix it up! Don’t forget your favorite pillow and blanket as well.
Bathroom Toiletries and Linens
~Don’t forget to bring some towels! I would suggest bringing 3-4 towels so that you have
enough. Girls, if you are anything like me, I think I brought nearly six towels because of course
you have to have one for your hair! Along with this, invest in a shower caddy. This will become
your best friend to transport your toiletries to the shower and back!
~A laundry hamper of some sort is so important to have! Not only does having one help keep
your room tidy and avoid having piles of clothes sitting on the floor, it is a great way to transport
your dirty laundry from your room to the laundry room. Laundry at QU is FREE, so you never
have to worry about saving your quarters. For laundry detergent, I suggest Tide Pods (or
something similar) for the mere fact that they are so easy. You pop one in the washer with your
dirty clothes and that’s all there is to it!
The following items are in no way necessary, but they are items that I and other current students liked to have! Your room is like a new little home, so bring what you need to feel at home!
~Picture frames full of friends and family
~Artwork or posters that you like
~A full length mirror
~Blankets (you can never have too many in my opinion!)
~Fun LED lights
~Your favorite board games or cards
I can’t wait to see how all of you future Hawks make your room your own!
